The Mental Ward: Turning Heel…..

Hogan

I first discovered pro wrestling in the mid-1980s. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes doing battle with “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton inside a steel cage is one of my earliest wrestling memories. However, when I saw “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sting go 60 minutes at the first Clash of the Champions, I was hooked for life. THAT was storytelling. THAT was drama. THAT was pro wrestling. In my youth Hulkamania ran wild. In my high school and college years, The Attitude Era redefined the industry. In my adult years, things just haven’t been the same. A spark is missing. The sport I loved has morphed into something almost unrecognizable at times. Yet, I still watch. I cling to hope that pro wrestling will one day again return to past glory. Webster defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. Ladies and gentlemen, come on in. We’re all friends here. Welcome back to, “The Mental Ward.”

The PWA Show: From Bakewell to Tokyo…..

JAX DANE

Chad and Keila return for Episode 17 this week filled with venom! The duo examines all the pro wrestling related news of the past 7 days including: Global Force Wrestling’s initial roster reveal and why the most important press conference in the young company’s history wasn’t streamed live, thoughts on this past Monday’s RAW, injuries to two top NXT talents, tons of other odd news tidbits from WWE, continuing challenges in the relationship between Destination America and TNA wrestling, plus Keila gives her very candid thoughts on ESPN broadcaster Michelle Beadle publicly turning in her WWE Fan Card in protest of Triple H’s support of boxer Floyd Mayweather. “The PWA Hotseat” is occupied this week by one of the hottest stars in the National Wrestling Alliance, NWA National & North American Heavyweight Champion, “Godzilla” Jax Dane. Jax takes listeners on a journey throughout his career from his humble beginnings in the rural Tennessee farm town of Bakewell, to his early tag team success with current ROH superstar Raymond Rowe, his partnership with “Ironman” Rob Conway, what its like touring Japan, making history recently by unifying two of the NWA’s most prestigious titles, and his future goal of becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. This interview is a great look at one of the fastest rising stars in the sport of professional wrestling. So sit back and enjoy this edition of The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!

Glam Slam: NXT (4-1-15) & WWE Smackdown (4-2-15)

SMACKDOWN
Hi guys! Welcome to this week’s edition of The Glam Slam! lot’s of NXT and WWE action to cover so let’s get started!
NXT (Air Date: 4/1/15)
  • Bayley Defeated Emma. Emma came out almost making fun of her once bubbly gimmick looking very annoyed. I like the change in Emma’s character and maybe the change will be beneficial to her in the future. I also wish they would change Bayley’s gimmick as well. The pacing of this match was off I am not sure if it was because Emma is not used to wrestling as heel or if their chemistry was just off either way, not a terrible match but of course there is always room for improvement!

GlamSlam Smackdown 1/10/14
