The PWA Show: Choosing Sides…..

EPISODE 46

Episode 46 finds Chad & Keila examining the confusing state of WWE storylines leading into this Sunday’s TLC PPV. Why are The Wyatt Family, a heel faction, picking a fight with The League of Nations, another heel stable? Why is the babyface WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte, suddenly displaying heelish tactics in her feud against Paige who had made this rivalry very personal with some of her previous comments? Why do The New Day continue to be playful, lovable, entertaining babyfaces even though they are heels? Pick a side people! It’s no wonder ratings for RAW are the lowest since the mid-90s era of cartoonish gimmicks which saw clowns, plumbers, and garbage men compete inside a WWE ring. The PWA Mailbag is once again opened and some listener mail is read. These questions cover several interesting topics including forgotten and under appreciated factions, which wrestling personality would make a great podcast host, and what old school booking tools have been eliminated from the arsenal of today’s wrestling presentations. Chad and Keila also make a huge announcement about an exciting opportunity coming their way very soon. Don’t miss this thrill packed edition of The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority.

The PWA Show: Tournament Turmoil…..

Kashin In: The Shield is Reunited (Temporarily) And it Feels So Good Edition (10-19-2015)

raw

Hello everyone and welcome to another installment of Ka$hin In with Keila Ca$h. Tonight’s episode of Raw emanated from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. It’s the go-home for Hell in a Cell. WWE is in desperation mode as ratings have hit record lows over the past month. The product has been stagnate. When times get tough, they call in the reinforcements. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair have been tasked to save the day by putting a little hot sauce on The Undertaker-Brock Lesnar rivalry which culminates inside Hell in a Cell is this Sunday. Did they give fans a reason to care about this match without droning on and on via a lame back and forth roundtable discussion? The answer to that question can be found throughout this blog. Without further ado, let’s dissect tonight’s episode of Raw in no particular order.

The Mental Ward: Public Enemy #1…..

DUNN

I first discovered pro wrestling in the mid-1980s. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes doing battle with “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton inside a steel cage is one of my earliest wrestling memories. However, when I saw “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sting go 60 minutes at the first Clash of the Champions, I was hooked for life. THAT was storytelling. THAT was drama. THAT was pro wrestling. In my youth Hulkamania ran wild. In my high school and college years, The Attitude Era redefined the industry. In my adult years, things just haven’t been the same. A spark is missing. The sport I loved has morphed into something almost unrecognizable at times. Yet, I still watch. I cling to hope that pro wrestling will one day again return to past glory. Webster defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. Ladies and gentlemen, come on in. We’re all friends here. Welcome back to, “The Mental Ward.”

Kashin In: The Stephanie McMahon is a Professional Ball Snipper Edition (10-5-2015)

RAW

Hello everyone and welcome to another installment of Ka$hin In with Keila Ca$h. Tonight’s episode of Raw emanated from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The WWE product outside of NXT has sucked as of late. There’s no need to tip toe around the subject. The company has been in a creative funk for well over a month and one would think that after two straight weeks of record low ratings that they would wake up and smell the proverbial coffee. Did WWE finally see the light and put on a three hour show that was entertaining from start to finish or did they bore the audience to tears once again? The answer to that pressing question can be found throughout this blog. Without further ado, let’s dissect tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw in no particular order.

Kashin In: The Seth Rollins Meets The Pope and St. Peter at the Pearly Gates Edition (9-28-2015)

RAW

Hello everyone and welcome to another installment of Ka$hin In with Keila Ca$h. Tonight’s episode of Raw emanated from The First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. WWE is currently in a ratings slump with very little on the creative front setting the word on fire as of late. There a few bright spots here and there, but the sum of its parts are not adding up to something sustainable for the long term. Can WWE get out of their creative funk by putting on a compelling three hour show that features a good balance of wrestling and storyline progression? The answer to that question can be found throughout this blog. Without further ado, let’s dissect tonight’s episode of Raw in no particular order.

The PWA Show: Good Guys Wear White…..

Rollins

Episode 36 of our podcast finds Chad & Keila with plenty of thoughts about WWE Night of Champions as well as this past Monday’s edition of RAW. What did the duo like about the pay per view? What drove them nuts? What creative direction do they see things heading for the future? Chad talks at length about the way WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, has been booked during his title reign. The difference between being a beatable heel and a week excuse for a champion is a fine line that WWE has crossed at times with Rollins always seemingly losing non-title matches particularly to John Cena as of late. Is there a method to this madness or is WWE Creative killing the golden goose? Keila rejoices at Paige’s apparent heel turn, Natalya’s homecoming, as well as the crowning of new WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte, and what all those things may mean for the future of the Divas division. Brocktober is covered as WWE is making everything about the Beast Incarnate next month on the road to Hell in a Cell and a third clash with The Undertaker. Is this a desperate attempt to spike sagging ratings or just smart business? The sudden lovefest from WWE directed at one Eric Bischoff is discussed as well with possible motives for this surprising development examined. The renewal of Lucha Underground is also discussed and what it may mean for free agent talents in the near future. Our roving reporter, Halfpint, also checks in with some great coverage of last weekend’s NWA Southern All-Star Wrestling event from Cookeville, TN. He managed to catch up with several key players in that event including NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jax Dane, “The Ironman” Rob Conway, Southern Tag Team Champions Hammerjack and Jernigan AKA Monsters of Mayhem, and more! This episode truly has something for every wrestling fan so get comfy, push play, and enjoy The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!
