The PWA Show: Change Is Good…..

47

Change is the central theme of Episode 47 as Chad & Keila come together for the final time to host The PWA Show. They examine in depth the changes at the top of WWE with Roman Reigns being crowned as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. What does this shift in the creative direction of the company mean for the future? What challengers will step up to face the new champ? What does this mean for the other major players in the WWE main event picture? Changes to WWE Smackdown are also discussed as a new voice for the brand is hired just in time for the big move to the USA Network. Changes at TNA are also on the horizon as the company is on the verge of also crowning a new World Champion to coincide with their move to PopTV. The changes to the Lucha Underground roster for season 2 are also debated as the exciting product readies for a late January return to the El Rey Network. Your hosting duo also goes out with a bang spending a disturbing amount of time analyzing the nominees for next week’s WWE Slammy Awards and all the silliness that usually surrounds that event. As 2015 draws to a close a new chapter will be written concerning the future of this show. We hope that you have enjoyed what we have offered this year on The PWA Show. The record number of website visits and social media interactions  don’t lie. We appreciate your support! The PWA Show: Choosing Sides…..

EPISODE 46

Episode 46 finds Chad & Keila examining the confusing state of WWE storylines leading into this Sunday’s TLC PPV. Why are The Wyatt Family, a heel faction, picking a fight with The League of Nations, another heel stable? Why is the babyface WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte, suddenly displaying heelish tactics in her feud against Paige who had made this rivalry very personal with some of her previous comments? Why do The New Day continue to be playful, lovable, entertaining babyfaces even though they are heels? Pick a side people! It’s no wonder ratings for RAW are the lowest since the mid-90s era of cartoonish gimmicks which saw clowns, plumbers, and garbage men compete inside a WWE ring. The PWA Mailbag is once again opened and some listener mail is read. These questions cover several interesting topics including forgotten and under appreciated factions, which wrestling personality would make a great podcast host, and what old school booking tools have been eliminated from the arsenal of today’s wrestling presentations. Chad and Keila also make a huge announcement about an exciting opportunity coming their way very soon. Don’t miss this thrill packed edition of The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority.

The PWA Show: Save Us Kevin Owens…..

PWA

Episode 44 comes at you this week with Chad & Keila talking in depth about recent events in the world of pro wrestling. They discuss this past week’s go home edition of WWE Monday Night RAW leading up to this Sunday’s Survivor Series where a brand new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned. How do they feel about the “Final 4” in the tournament? What are their thoughts on the controversial comments made by Paige directed at WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte? The duo also examine how Tyler Breeze has been presented since his main roster debut and they debate the idea that NXT may not be as mainstream as WWE would like us to believe. Kevin Owens mastery of Twitter is celebrated as Chad reads some of his better Tweets directed at fans recently and also recaps the Twitter war that erupted Monday night between Owens and actress, Melissa Joan Hart. Is this how heels should use social media? Keila offers up advice to WWE on how to more effectively use second and third generation stars without making them carbon copies of their famous fathers. Chad gives old school fans something to digest this week as he looks at the career of Japanese legend, Tenryu, who retired this week; pays his respects to former 4-Time AWA World Champion, Nick Bockwinkel, who passed away over the weekend; and he takes us back 30 years to the formation of the legendary Four Horsemen. Keila also brings up a great point about Kurt Angle and his career in WWE -vs- TNA. This show is loaded and has something for everyone. We hope you enjoy the latest edition of The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!

The PWA Show: Tournament Turmoil…..

Bracket

Episode 43 of The PWA Show centers around the richest prize in the industry being up for grabs! Chad and Keila discuss the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament at length. Which competitors seemed out of place in the bracket? Who can benefit the most from a strong showing throughout the tourney? Who do they believe will comprise the final 4? Who could be a dark horse winner? Lots of tournament turmoil is talked about this week. Your tag team co-hosting duo also manage to cover some other topics this week including: another memorable character signing a WWE Legends contract, rumors of a TNA return to Spike TV, changes in the coaching ranks at the WWE Performance Center, plus an exciting announcement of a new program coming your way from Team PWA in 2016. Chad also gives a synopsis of an event that he and “Halfpint” attended last weekend. The Mental Ward: I Loved You to Death…..

Kayfabe

I first discovered pro wrestling in the mid-1980s. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes doing battle with “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton inside a steel cage is one of my earliest wrestling memories. However, when I saw “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sting go 60 minutes at the first Clash of the Champions, I was hooked for life. THAT was storytelling. THAT was drama. THAT was pro wrestling. In my youth Hulkamania ran wild. In my high school and college years, The Attitude Era redefined the industry. In my adult years, things just haven’t been the same. A spark is missing. The sport I loved has morphed into something almost unrecognizable at times. Yet, I still watch. I cling to hope that pro wrestling will one day again return to past glory. Webster defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. Ladies and gentlemen, come on in. We’re all friends here. Welcome back to, “The Mental Ward.”

The PWA Show: On the Road Again…..

pws

This week Episode 37 of our podcast sees Chad and Keila covering all the news from the week that was in the pro wrestling world. They delve into this past Monday’s edition of RAW and dissect the main points including what may have contributed to the lowest rating the show has received in 18 years. The duo examines the progression of the Kane/Seth Rollins feud and how it’s managed to do the unthinkable and make Kane somewhat interesting again. The future of both the United States and Intercontinental Championships are discussed with several possible contenders emerging for both titles. Find out why the continuing “Divas Revolution” has Keila feeling somewhat nauseous this week. A WWE Wellness Policy violation results in a 30 day suspension for a very unlikely superstar. Two Hall of Fame Divas also made headlines this week for very different reasons. WWE’s super show at Madison Square Garden this weekend is also discussed with Brock Lesnar set to take The Big Show to Suplex City. Plus Chad & Keila also celebrate the return of one of their favorite gimmicks as they hope this means better things for this individual this time around. Our roving reporter, “Halfpint” joins the show to give listeners a review of all the sights and sounds surrounding an event he attended last weekend in east Tennessee for Pro Wrestling South featuring Matt Hardy, “Cowboy” James Storm, and the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Ethan Carter III. What did Halfpint think of this event? What would he improve? Could he even concentrate with his beloved Tennessee Volunteers blowing another late 4th quarter lead to Chad’s Florida Gators? Halfpint, ever the consummate pro, puts his disappointment aside and actually gets a quick word with EC3 concerning the future of TNA wrestling and his upcoming title defense at the Bound for Glory pay per view event this weekend. That’s two weeks…..two World Champions…..right here on The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!

The PWA Show: Good Guys Wear White…..

Rollins

Episode 36 of our podcast finds Chad & Keila with plenty of thoughts about WWE Night of Champions as well as this past Monday’s edition of RAW. What did the duo like about the pay per view? What drove them nuts? What creative direction do they see things heading for the future? Chad talks at length about the way WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, has been booked during his title reign. The difference between being a beatable heel and a week excuse for a champion is a fine line that WWE has crossed at times with Rollins always seemingly losing non-title matches particularly to John Cena as of late. Is there a method to this madness or is WWE Creative killing the golden goose? Keila rejoices at Paige’s apparent heel turn, Natalya’s homecoming, as well as the crowning of new WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte, and what all those things may mean for the future of the Divas division. Brocktober is covered as WWE is making everything about the Beast Incarnate next month on the road to Hell in a Cell and a third clash with The Undertaker. Is this a desperate attempt to spike sagging ratings or just smart business? The sudden lovefest from WWE directed at one Eric Bischoff is discussed as well with possible motives for this surprising development examined. The renewal of Lucha Underground is also discussed and what it may mean for free agent talents in the near future. Our roving reporter, Halfpint, also checks in with some great coverage of last weekend’s NWA Southern All-Star Wrestling event from Cookeville, TN. He managed to catch up with several key players in that event including NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jax Dane, “The Ironman” Rob Conway, Southern Tag Team Champions Hammerjack and Jernigan AKA Monsters of Mayhem, and more! This episode truly has something for every wrestling fan so get comfy, push play, and enjoy The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!
