It was Saturday night October 24, 2015. You couldn’t fool me or the fans though. Going into the Oman Arena was like going back in time. At least that’s the reasoning I had in my head for why it was so difficult getting into the building. After getting in and finding out where my seat was, I made my way over to who I think is the greatest announce team in Wrestling History.

Collectors will love what he has to say! Former WWE developmental talent and Memphis native, Dustin Starr, joins the show to occupy “The PWA Hotseat” this week. Dustin discusses his love of Memphis wrestling growing up, breaking into pro wrestling, working in Florida Championship Wrestling before it became NXT, being a 2-Time NPC Men’s Physique Champion in his home state, ruling the ring as “The Power Couple” with his beautiful fiancee Maria Garay, his upcoming appearances for Global Force Wrestling, and his involvement in the movement to save the historic Mid-South Coliseum and perhaps construct a Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame within that venue. This interview is a great look at one of the top independent wrestling talents in the sport today! To close show, the late great Tommy Rogers of The Fantastics is discussed and Chad talks about a couple of fundraising efforts underway to help his family with funeral expenses. This week’s edition of The PWA Show covers all three grand divisions of the “Volunteer State”. Chad & Keila re-cap the WWE Fast Lane PPV which took place last Sunday in Memphis. The dynamic duo are also joined by The PWA Show’s very own intern, Big K, as he describes his experience this past Monday attending WWE’s Monday Night RAW in Nashville. BREAKING NEWS: Slam-Pro Wrestling Returns to Middle TN with Slam Fest 2015!

Two years ago, one of the most successful independent wrestling promotions to pop up in recent years, Slam-Pro Wrestling, made a huge splash in middle Tennessee! The company held two events in 2013. Slam Fest was held in May in Cookeville at the Tennessee Tech University Memorial Gym and drew around 1,400 fans to see stars such as: Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, Rikishi, Tommy Dreamer, “Grandmaster Sexay” Brian Christopher, Al Snow, and “The Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan. Three months later in August, Slam-Pro promoted Summer Heat 2013 in nearby Sparta which featured the first stop on The Outsiders World Tour as nWo founders, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, met with fans. The show also featured a legends match between “The Wild-Eyed Southern Boy” Tracy Smothers against “Superstar” Bill Dundee. “The Hurricane” Shane Helms was also on hand and wrestled in the main event. That show drew a sellout crowd of almost 900 fans to the White County Agricultural Complex.

Episode 196 – Slam Pro Summer Heat Interviews

The P.W.A. Show was invited to Slam Pro’s Summer Heat on August 3rd 2013.  Summer Heat featured a number of stars coming together to provide Sparta,TN with some top notch wrestling. The event featured Kevin Nash and Scott Hall making an appearance together.  It had Cody Hall, Scott’s son, wrestling against a guy named the Joker and King Shane Williams. It was a star studded event from top to bottom and Mark Houchin and Hammerjack allowed the podcast to have full access at the show.  At that event, the interns: Big K and Halfpint interviewed a number of the wrestlers and people at the event.  This episode is a collection of those interviews.   Interviews are with:

Mark Houchin of Slam Pro Wrestling joins the show and talks about the upcoming Summer Heat Event, which is held in Sparta, TN, on August 3rd.  He talks about who will be at the event along with ticket prices and Superstar information.  Also he talks about his time in Crossfire Wrestling and what he felt was the downfall of the Nashville Company.
