The PWA Show: On the Road Again…..

pws

This week Episode 37 of our podcast sees Chad and Keila covering all the news from the week that was in the pro wrestling world. They delve into this past Monday’s edition of RAW and dissect the main points including what may have contributed to the lowest rating the show has received in 18 years. The duo examines the progression of the Kane/Seth Rollins feud and how it’s managed to do the unthinkable and make Kane somewhat interesting again. The future of both the United States and Intercontinental Championships are discussed with several possible contenders emerging for both titles. Find out why the continuing “Divas Revolution” has Keila feeling somewhat nauseous this week. A WWE Wellness Policy violation results in a 30 day suspension for a very unlikely superstar. Two Hall of Fame Divas also made headlines this week for very different reasons. WWE’s super show at Madison Square Garden this weekend is also discussed with Brock Lesnar set to take The Big Show to Suplex City. Plus Chad & Keila also celebrate the return of one of their favorite gimmicks as they hope this means better things for this individual this time around. Our roving reporter, “Halfpint” joins the show to give listeners a review of all the sights and sounds surrounding an event he attended last weekend in east Tennessee for Pro Wrestling South featuring Matt Hardy, “Cowboy” James Storm, and the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Ethan Carter III. What did Halfpint think of this event? What would he improve? Could he even concentrate with his beloved Tennessee Volunteers blowing another late 4th quarter lead to Chad’s Florida Gators? Halfpint, ever the consummate pro, puts his disappointment aside and actually gets a quick word with EC3 concerning the future of TNA wrestling and his upcoming title defense at the Bound for Glory pay per view event this weekend. That’s two weeks…..two World Champions…..right here on The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority!

The Mental Ward: A Call to the Hall…..

Bischoff

I first discovered pro wrestling in the mid-1980s. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes doing battle with “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton inside a steel cage is one of my earliest wrestling memories. However, when I saw “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sting go 60 minutes at the first Clash of the Champions, I was hooked for life. THAT was storytelling. THAT was drama. THAT was pro wrestling. In my youth Hulkamania ran wild. In my high school and college years, The Attitude Era redefined the industry. In my adult years, things just haven’t been the same. A spark is missing. The sport I loved has morphed into something almost unrecognizable at times. Yet, I still watch. I cling to hope that pro wrestling will one day again return to past glory. Webster defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. Ladies and gentlemen, come on in. We’re all friends here. Welcome back to, “The Mental Ward.”

Old School Spotlight: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert

Hot Stuff

In the long storied history of professional wrestling, many spandex clad gladiators have grabbed our attention and captured our imaginations. These colorful characters remain in the deepest recesses of our minds years after their glory days in the ring have passed. The most memorable grapplers from our years of wrestling fandom are often those that we encounter early on in our initial discovery of the mat game. This column will take a look at some of the most bizarre, flamboyant, charismatic, and downright terrifying pro wrestlers of all time.

The PWA Show: The Road to WrestleMania

ROAD TO MANIA

In this week’s show Chad & Keila once again examine the world of pro wrestling. They have a lively discussion about this past Monday’s RAW and the affect it will have on WrestleMania 31. How do they feel about Jon Stewart’s involvement? Does a loss this past Monday night help Roman Reigns?  Why does WWE rely on the same lazy distraction finishes week after week? What’s the latest dirt on the WWE Divas? Halfpint also checks in with his “Halfpint’s Point” segment as he examines The Undertaker and his involvement in WrestleMania. Hear thoughts on all those topics plus: the futures of former world champions, Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio; the merits of inter-gender matches in pro wrestling; an ROH 13th Anniversary PPV re-cap; and an exclusive interview with former NWA Television Champion and NWA Australian Heavyweight Champion, Jeremiah Plunkett, as he climbs aboard “The PWA Hotseat”. Chad also has some exciting news about next week’s episode! Don’t miss all this and more on this week’s edition of The PWA Show, YOUR pro wrestling authority.
